The piece follows three archetypes, a zero hours worker, a young mother, and a homeless character. Through the lens of their stories, Rush tells the wider story of the issues people in areas of low engagement face. To compliment anddrive the narrative of the dance performances, NOVAK created a series of highly striking video sequences that interspersed the dance performances. Working in close collaboration with Southpaw Dance Company and to a strict pallet of black and white, in the most part, these video sections provided an essential element to the story telling process, while also delivering an epic backdrop to this massive performance.
“Novak helped us to realise the creative potential of Rush as a project and surpassed all expectations in terms of professionalism, artistic input, and end result. Adam and the team listened and reacted to my artistic vision for the piece, and produced a truly spectacular visual story-telling element integral to the delivery of Rush. We look forward to developing the collaborative relationship into new projects where Novak will always be our first port of call as an outstanding creative design studio.”
